Ignacio Pinazo Camarlench: (1849—1916) was a Spanish painter. Born in Valencia to a poor family, Pinzao was forced to earn his living as a young man by practicing various trades: silversmith, hatter, a decorator of glazed tiles (azulejos), and a painter of fans. He began his artistic training at the age of 21, achieving his first success three years later at Barcelona.
In 1874, he received a grant that allowed him to move to Rome. When he returned to his natal city, he abandoned all historic themes and instead painting familial subjects, nude figures, and scenes from daily life, thereby anticipating Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida as much in subject as in style.
Some of his work appears in the Basílica de la Asunción at Cieza.
He died at Godella.
